get rich quick

A get rich quick scheme promises large returns fast and with little effort, and the promise itself is the warning.

Everything that ever built wealth was boring, slow and available to anybody. That is precisely why so few people do it, and why there is such an enormous market for something faster.

Get rich quick schemes exist to sell hope to people who are tired. Forex signals. Crypto pumps. Investment platforms promising 20 percent monthly. Courses about making money from courses. Networks where you earn by recruiting.

The tests are simple and they never fail.

If the return is high and guaranteed, it is fraud. Real returns are never guaranteed, and the two words together are the signature.

If you earn primarily by recruiting others, the business is recruitment and somebody must be last.

If the person selling it makes their money from teaching rather than doing, ask yourself why.

And if you cannot explain in one plain sentence where the profit actually comes from, then you are the profit.

The frustrating truth is that the boring route works and nothing else does. Earn, spend less than you earn, invest the gap in things that produce, and wait years. It is not a secret and nobody can sell it to you, which is exactly why nobody tries.

A platform promises 20 percent a month with capital guaranteed. That is 240 percent a year, guaranteed, in a country where the government pays around 19. Ask why anybody offering that would need your ₦200,000.

Questions people ask

How do I spot one?

Guaranteed high returns, urgency, pressure to recruit, vague explanations, and no regulator. Any one of these is enough to walk away.

Are all high returns scams?

No, but high and guaranteed together always are. Genuine high returns come with genuine risk, and honest people say so plainly.

What actually works?

Earning, spending less than you earn, and investing the difference for years. It is unglamorous, it is available to everybody, and it is the only thing that reliably works.
