Orange Corners Nigeria Cohort 16 business support for Lagos founders

You may already have customers. Likewise, you may already have a business people believe in. Even so, there is a point where goodwill alone stops being enough, and what you need is structure and somebody experienced in your corner. Orange Corners Nigeria was built for exactly that moment.

In short, Orange Corners Nigeria gives young Lagos founders six months of training, mentoring and advisory support. Also, it costs you nothing to take part.

At a glance

  • What you get: enterprise management training, business advisory, mentoring, market connections, and access to funding for prototype development and testing.
  • Who qualifies: entrepreneurs aged 18 to 35 with core business operations in Lagos. The Ogun State intake for this round has already closed.
  • Deadline: 30 November 2026. Applications opened on 1 September, and the portal does not publish a closing time.
  • Duration and attendance: six months, delivered as a hybrid programme.
  • Participation fee: none. The programme is funded by the Dutch government and private partners.

Who can apply to Orange Corners Nigeria?

First, you need a validated, innovative business concept that is no more than two years old. It must address a local challenge here in Nigeria and connect to the Sustainable Development Goals. Cohort 16 is the Lagos intake, so your core operations must sit in Lagos.

Now, about the money everybody talks about. Funding of up to €30,000 is advertised for prototype development and testing. However, treat that as funding you may be awarded, not a cheque every participant collects. So selection decides it.

What you could gain

Alongside the training there is coaching, personalised follow up, events, and access to incubator space with reduced price commercial domiciliation. Also, the programme is an initiative of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Lagos, and FATE Foundation runs it. In short, this is not a weekend seminar. Indeed, FATE has incubated more than 240 businesses across fifteen previous cohorts.

How to apply

  1. Open the Cohort 16 page and choose “Join Cohort 16 in Lagos”.
  2. Create a free account on FATE Foundation’s SOAR portal, which the application opens into.
  3. Then complete and submit the form before 30 November 2026.

Still, selection is competitive. First, fifty semi finalists attend a compulsory two day bootcamp. Then twenty are chosen from there.

Before you apply

First, prepare a plain explanation of your customer, the problem you solve, and what you have already tested. Sales, repeat customers or honest trial feedback make that explanation concrete, and they beat big adjectives every time. Also note that the general Orange Corners country page still shows an older start date, so take your dates from the Cohort 16 portal instead. Finally, ask about the €30,000 terms and what attendance the bootcamp demands, because six months is a real commitment.
